Howdy!
My name is Jill Palmer. This is my 2nd year at Helotes
Elementary, and my 9th year teaching overall. I love being
a bulldog, and can't wait to meet all of my new students this
year! I spent my four previous years at Thornton
Elementary teaching kindergarten, and three years before that
at Powell Elementary
teaching 1st and 3rd grade. In graduate school, I got to teach
college students too!
I am
a Texas girl. I have lived in Houston,
Lubbock, and Waco.
My family moved to San
Antonio in 1984 where I attended Northside schools including
Glen Oaks Elementary,
Hobby and Rudder
Middle School, and Clark
High School. I hold a bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary
Studies and Early Childhood Education from The
University of Texas at San Antonio, and a masters in Curriculum
and Instruction from Baylor University.
Last summer I started working on a doctorate in educational administration
from the Texas A&M University
extension here in south San Antonio, but I've got several years
to go before I'll finish it.
I live
with my husband, Marte, and our 2-year-old daughter, Sarah
Elaine! She was born on March 11, 2003. We also have two cats,
Clara and Clementine, and our black chihuahua, Thor. My hobbies
include spending time with our extended family, traveling, gardening,
reading, singing, assisting in
Sunday School, and this web page. Lots of exciting things
have happened to me lately: I visited my two sisters this summer,
vacationed in Washington D.C.,
I celebrated my 6th wedding anniversary, and I found out we're
expecting a new baby in February!
Thanks
for visiting, I hope you enjoy my site and will leave me a message
in my guestbook when you're done.
